Weed was a project band (German/British members) created by Ken Hensley (from Uriah Heep) in 1971 and recorded their only self-titled album in the same year. The band members were : Ken Hensley (vocals, guitar, keyboards), Reinhold Spiegelfeld (bass), Bernd Hohmann (flute), Werner Monka (guitar), Rainer Schnelle (keyboards), Peet Becker (drums)
About the Album:
Weed is a heavy prog album with some notes of heavy psych and blues rock. Catchy heavy guitars from two lead guitarists with heavy sound, the solid rhythm section along with the organ and keyboards and some flute’s passage making this record another lost gem from the ‘70s.

2. Akritas

After Bourboulia and Poll, vocalist, guitarist and bassist Stavros Logaridis, drummer Giorgos Tsoupakis and keyboardist Aris Tasoulis made Akritas with two big collaborations with guitarist Dimos Papachristou, and magic lyricist Kostas Ferris, they made a record worthy to remember.
About the Album:
A greek qualitative masterpiece has magic poetic lyrics in Greek. Akritas succeed in mingling psychedelic/space, symphonic, jazz-rock improvisations of all instruments and interlarding with Greek traditional passages. They achieved the greatest result with passion and talent. It is suggested for pretentious ears, because of complexity, but it is still interesting record for all music lovers.

Amish were formed back in 1970 in Galt, Ontario Canada. They released their only self-titled album in 1972 with 8 tracks. Band members: Doug Stagg, Ron Baumtrog, Jack Byrne, Mike Gingrich.
About the Album:
“Amish” is a heavy prog album full of Organ/Hammond and heavy, swirling guitars along with the solid rhythm section. The band built some psych paths blended with a lot of hard rock riffs that leads to a more “crossover” paths. The band make also and a cover from Traffic, "Dear Mr. Fantasy"

4. Blackwater Park

Blackwater Park was an overclouded heavy prog band from Berlin, having as vocalist/guitarist Richard Routledge from England. The name of the band was inspired of Wilkie Collin's The Woman in White . Additionally this band is the reason why Opeth’s ‘’Blackwater Park’’ album took its name.
About the Album:
Dirt Box (1971) is an album, which promotes the intense guitaristic synthesis. Based on blues, rock ‘n’ roll and heavy riffs, they have also stated proto-heavy metal sound. And as we examine ‘’Rock song’’, the biggest song of the album, we understand that we deal with many crossovering changes from Heavy & Doom Metal to Hard ‘n’ Heavy rock and also having Space/Stoner Rock as a part of a calm down.

5. PLJ
Armageddon | Released @1982
Psychedelic/Space Rock • Greece
'PLJ' was a Greek band created in 1980 by Pavlos Kikrilis, Laurentis Macheritsas and Jimmy Vasalakos, they released their album Armageddon in 1982. After the release of this album Greek government starts to destroy these records feeling they contained blasphemous lyrics. The band dispatched after that, change their name to Termites and took another music direction in Greece.
About the Album:
‘Armageddon’ is an album that blends acoustic and electric folk with a lot of psychedelic and space rock themes. The hypnotizing riffs blend with the space sound keyboards creating mystical ‘’soundscapes’’, excellent work from rhythm section in whole album, also the mixture of classic style along with the electric guitar, under some ethnic/oriental riffs build this amazing atmosphere. Finally we can hear lyrics both in English and Greek…
